GymscleGymscle vs Hevy
Both log a workout well. The difference is everything around the log. Hevy is free with a paid Pro tier, a cloud account and a social feed, on iOS, Android and the web. Gymscle is free in full, has no account, and keeps everything on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. Pick by what you want around the log, not by the log.

- You want a coach-style program that adapts, and are happy to pay for Hevy Trainer.
- Your iPhone cannot run iOS 26.
Pick Gymscle if
- You want the whole app for free, with nothing capped and nothing to unlock.
- You do not want an account, and you want your training data to stay on your own device.
- You want a plan-first app: a library of real programs, A/B variants and supersets, and a generator that builds one from your equipment.
- You train with an Apple Watch and want heart rate, rest timer and set logging on your wrist, with the phone in the locker.
Switching between them
Gymscle to Hevy works. Export a Strong-format CSV from Settings, Data, and import it in Hevy. Hevy to Gymscle does not, because Gymscle imports only its own backup files and plan codes, so your Hevy history stays in Hevy. Plans you can rebuild from the 62 built-in programs, generate in five questions, or scan from a photo or PDF.
Questions
- Is Hevy free?
- Yes, with caps: 4 routines, 7 custom exercises and 3 months of history on the free plan, with no ads. Hevy Pro at $2.99 a month, $23.99 a year or $74.99 once removes the caps. Gymscle has no caps and no paid tier.
- Can I move my Hevy history to Gymscle?
- No. Gymscle imports its own backup files and plan codes, not CSV. The other direction works, because Gymscle exports a Strong-format CSV that Hevy imports.
- Does Gymscle have a social feed like Hevy?
- No. Gymscle has no accounts, so there is no feed, following or comments. You can share a plan as a code and a workout or achievement as an image card.
- Which one works on Android?
- Hevy runs on iOS, Android, Apple Watch, Wear OS and the web. Gymscle is iPhone and Apple Watch only.
